Hellow!!
I listened to English Through Stories "Missing Person-Episode1"on the internet.
Episode1:The man in the mask

***The following words is the one I didn't understand.***
tick me off = makes me angry
tough = タフ、荒っぽい
tough action 荒っぽい行動
son-of-a-gun = a man that you are annoyed with
get away = 逃げる、免れる、離れる
hell = 地獄
(ex. Get away from this apartment!! )

grabbe = ひっつかむ
yell = 叫ぶ
(ex. he yelled now.)

Anne Prado did't know where is her sister, Sarah.
She called Sarah's apartment.But, there is no answer.
She went to Sarah's apartment.And, she knocked the door.But, there is no answer.
She called Sarah's work.Her boss said "Sarah have been missing for two days."
So she asked her teacher to help.
She and her teacher went to the apartment.
Then a man ran to tward Sarah's teacher.
A man and teacher fought.
A man said "Just get the hell away from this apartment building.You're not welcome here."
Then, a man run away.
It's very strange!!

Hello!!
I reached the double figures from I started the blog. Yeah〜〜!!

Today I tell you about the story "The Blue Cat Club".
This is published by Penguin Longman Publishing.

『100万語多読入門』, 古川 昭夫 (著), 伊藤 晶子 (著), 酒井 邦秀 (編集) ,コスモピア (2005/3/26). "The Blue Cat Club" (pp. 132 - 147).


The following words are the words I didn't understand.

cabaret = entertainment, usually with music, songs, and dancing, performed in a restaurant or club while the customers eat and drink 
       (ex) James  and Chantal watched the cabaret of magic.
swords = a weapon with a long blade and a handle
       (ex) The man held the swords.


James and Chantal went to the Blue Cat Club.
They watched the cabaret of magic there.
The magician is clever.
The magician showed the magic, and guest was laughing.
The magician came to the place sitting James and Chantal.
He showed the magic.
He showed to get out his watch and her neckless.
The magician said "It's a only magic".

James thought not better.
Then, the magician asked Chantal to help the magic.
James recognized to stop.
So, he help the magic instead of her.
The staff took a big box and five swords.

James entered the box, the magician run though the swords.
Soon, they heard his scream.
The box was opened.
He closed his eyes, and his shirt was getting in red.
The magician surprised, and said "I'm so sorry".

Then James opened his eyes, and smiled.
He said "It's a only magic".
The guests laughed.

Hi!!
Today, I tell you about the story "Losing Lucky".
This book was published by Longman Literacy Land.
This is the story of a boy lose a rabbit.
His name is Mouse.
He loved a rabbit named Lucky.
But, one day, Lucky dead looks like asleep.
He felt so sad. And, his family looked sad too.
He and his family dug the hole, and put a box into Lucky.
They made a grave for Lucky.
That night, Mouse had a dream of Lucky.
Lucky looked happy. So Mouse felt happy.
That all!!

I didn't understand the following words.
*earth= 地上、地球
(ex) He pushed the earth into the hole.
*grave= 墓
(ex) They made a grave for Lucky.

The above example sentences come from the book I read.
I bring back to memory you said before!!
You tell me I should use the example sentences come from the book.

Hello!!
Autumn semester started.
I start writing at my blog again.

Today, I borrowed a book in the library.
The name is "100万語多読入門".
It was published by コスモピア株式会社.
In this book, six books is introduced.
First, I read "The Rope Swing".
This book was published by Oxford Reading Press in 1986.
The following words is the words I don't know.

stream=a natural flow of water that moves across the land and is narrower than a river
silly     (ex)'Shall we go for a walk?' ' Don't be silly, it's dark.'
                     You made a lot of silly mistakes.
splash=if a liquid splashes, it hits or falls on something and makes a noise.
            (ex)The ocean splashed against the pier.

It's easy for me to read this book.
Next, I try to read "Losing Lucky".

Hello!!
Today, I tell you about story of "THE DINOSAURS NEXT DOOR".
I borrowed this book in the library.
It is in Series One of Usborne Young Reading books.
It was published in 2002 by Usborne Publishing Ltd.

be bursting with something=to have a lot of something or be filled with something
(Mr.puff was bursting with fun.)

zillion=a very large number of things
(Dinasaurs died out zillion of years ago.)

jiggle=to make something move from side to side or up and down with short quick movements, or to move like this
(The egg began to jiggle.)

crack=a thin line on the surface of something when it is broken but has not actually come apart
(A crack appeared on the shell.)

stare=to look at something or someone for a long time without moving your eyes
(Sam stared at the dinosaur.)

shatter=to break suddenly into very small pieces
(The shells shattered.)

attic=a space or room just below the roof of a house
(Mr.puff ran up the attic.)

"Oh dear!"= to show that you are surprised, upset, or annoyed because something bad has happened

peer=to look very carefully at something
(Mr.puff peered inside the machine.)

ex‧haust=to make someone feel extremely tired

pant=to breathe quickly with short noisy breaths

"Whew!"
used when you are surprised, very hot, or feeling glad that something bad did not happen

brilliant=extremely clever or skilful

Hello!!


Today, I tell you about "Elves and the Shoemaker".
This is a story of shoemaker.


An old shoemaker was lived with his wife.


The shoes he made is very nice.


Everyone want to buy the shoes he made.


But, since a man who ride a cart came, his business became to bad.


Because, the man sold the cheap price shoes.


Everyone want to buy the cheap price shoes.


But, his shoes were awful.


An old shoemaker feld sad.


One day, an old shoemaker cut leather out the shoe shapes and laid them on his work table.


Then he went to bed soon.


Next morning, he and his wife were very surprised.


There was a perfect pair of shoes on his work table.


"It must be magic." they thought.


Before long, a rich gentleman came and bought the shoes.


The surprising things continued.


His business was booming again.


One night, he and his wife decided to see what happened in his work place.


Surprisingly, they saw that two little elves began to make shoes.


They knew who made the nice shoes.


His business became to good.


One day, the cheap shoe seller was leaving.



An old shoemaker and his wife thought that we should thank them.


They made little suits and pair of shoes for two elves.


The elves found the clothes and shoes, and wore it.


They said "How handsome we look!".


They were pleased!!


The next moment, fourteen elves came in the room.


These elves were working under the cheap shoe seller until he escape.


All of elves thought that we may not make shoes.


Elves ran out the shoemaker's house with smile.


They never made more shoes.

amazement= a feeling of great surprise

neatly= きちんと、巧妙に

shiny= bright シャイニー (shiny teeth)

buffle= can't understand at all, very surprise

before long= やがて

solid= a firm object, not gas or liquid

puzzled= a feeling of anxious 戸惑った、困った

ruin= to destroy something completely
(This illness has ruined my life.)

snort= to breath air in a noisy way out through your nose
(She snorted with laughter.)

rag= a small piece of old cloth

rotten= not clean, very bad, to feel not good

attic= a space of roof 屋根裏部屋

astonish= surprise

fist= 握り拳

relief= a feeling of comfort
(It's a relief to get back home.)

proper= 適した、適切な、きちんとした
